“Back to Church”

Today marks the end of the summer season but September is just getting started and it’s going to be a great month here at RCCN! Sunday School classes for all ages began today at 9:15 - if you didn’t participate in one this morning, please consider joining a class next week. Today also marks the return of Solid Rock Children’s Worship activities during the service and our Sunday evening activities for age groups from 3rd grade all the way up to adults. Men’s, Ladies, and Young Professional Connect Groups also return this week. See the online bulletin or contact the church office at 832-5871 for more information.

A Sabbatical for PC DeMott

In case you missed it...Last week our Church Board announced its decision to grant Pastor Chris DeMott a sabbatical during the months of October & November 2018.  This time away is intentionally designed to foster spiritual, emotional and professional growth in our Pastor. Please pray for him and our church board as they continue to make preparations.  Please Note - ALL of RCCN’s regular ministries and activities will carry on during PC’s time away. NEW Event at RCCN! - Monthly Prayer Meeting

Pastor Chris is excited to introduce you to our newest opportunity to gather together as a church family - a monthly prayer meeting.  Please plan to join us on the last Thursday of each month from 7:00-8:00pm. Each month will focus upon a specific theme, include special worship and creatively involve our church family in purposeful & powerful prayer.  P.C. is looking to build a leadership team for this event (Please indicate your interest by following the link below or marking your Connect Card) or contact him personally.

Wednesday Connect - Ladies Bible Study

As of this point, the Wednesday night Ladies Bible Study led by Marilyn Boelk has been indefinitely “paused”.  Please make a note of this change and be encouraged to join another one of our Connect Groups.

Annual Golf Outing

Attention men and women of all ages and golfers of all levels - you are cordially invited to join us for our annual golf scramble on Saturday, September 22 at 8:30 am.  The cost of $20 includes 18 holes with cart and lunch will be available for $5. Ladies Retreat

All ladies are invited to the annual Northern Michigan District Ladies Retreat on October 12-13 at the Lakeside Resort in Houghton Lake. Our own Melissa Maynard will be leading worship - you don't want to miss out! RCCN is inviting any gardeners/farmers in the congregation to share their bounty on Sunday mornings. If you have an abundance of fresh produce/eggs etc. that you would like to share you can drop them off anytime to the garden refrigerator on the shaded west side of the shed. Extras will be distributed on Sundays to bless others. Contact the church office or Mallory DeMerell if you have any questions.

Foundations Bible Study for 3rd-6th Graders begins Sunday September 9th and meets weekly from 5:30-7:00pm.

All 7-12th Graders are invited to come for Velocity youth group on Sundays at 5:30pm on the following dates:

SHEPHERD'S TABLE

Join our Shepherd’s Table ministry team as we serve 75-100 individuals each week at our Thursday evening meal.  To volunteer or to get more details, click below.

SPECIAL EVENTS IN THE COMMUNITY

CROP hunger walk

Help end hunger one step at a time by participating in the annual Reed City Ministerial Association Crop Hunger Walk. Join walkers on Sunday, September 30 at 1:00pm at the Reed City Middle School. See Bernice Graham or Ted Lehnen to sign up or for more information.

PROTECT YOUNG EYES TRAINING

Protect Young Eyes wants to give busy parents the information and tools they need to use technology awesomely. The Protect Young Eyes team, led by Founder Chris McKenna, presents around the country, and is featured regularly on local news, podcasts, and radio stations for their in-depth research.
